ShareInvestor provides market data tools and financial applications to institutional and retail investors. The company also manages one of the largest independent financial portals in Singapore. As a technology company, ShareInvestor assists public listed companies and financial institutions with their corporate website designs and technology services.
ShareInvestor clients include more than 450 public listed companies in the region and its corporate clients include many blue chip companies. ShareInvestor has thousands of paying subscribers for its financial products and services, and an average of 100,000 unique visitors monthly across its online properties.
ShareInvestor organises regular financial investment seminars and conferences for investors. Our annual large scale conferences, INVEST Fair in Singapore and INVESTOR Expo in Malaysia draw thousands of participants from Asia to the shows.

History
was founded by a medical doctor, Michael Leong in late 1999. The company was originally positioned as the preferred online platform for investors to learn and share. The senior management team comprises of senior executives from the public relations, finance and information technology industries.
Initially, ShareInvestor depended on online banner advertisement as the main revenue source. However, when the internet bubble burst in early 2000, the company had to reposition itself to focus on more specific customer requirements instead of just relying on banner advertisement to generate revenue.
The online investor relations service offering was first introduced in late 2000. The objective was to leverage the internet to help public listed companies communicate their investment merits to their stakeholders. The business grew rapidly and we then expanded this service offering to Malaysia and Thailand in 2004 and 2005 respectively.
Financial information was offered free to online visitors in the early years in ShareInvestor. However, with a renewed focus on creating more value for our online visitors, we introduced the market data tool service offering in late 2000. ShareInvestor focuses on delivering timely updated fundamental and charting tools for both novice and sophisticated investors. These led to the creation of both our products ShareInvestor.com and ShareInvestor Station.
As ShareInvestor became an independent financial portal in Singapore, financial advertisers were keen to leverage on our reach to promote their investment products. We repackage our online advertisement offerings in 2003 with specific focus on different asset classes.
In 2006, ShareInvestor introduced our first bi-monthly financial print publication, INVEST magazine. In 2007, we organised the inaugural INVEST Fair, a large scale 2-day conference cum exhibition drawing more than 20,000 visitors. With these successes, we expanded both the magazine and event business into Malaysia in 2008.
In late 2008, the ShareInvestor Group of companies was acquired by Singapore Press Holdings (SPH).

Board of Directors
Patrick Daniel, Chairman
Mr Daniel joined The Straits Times as a senior writer in October 1986. He assumed the position of Editor-in-Chief of the English & Malay Newspapers Division of SPH in January 2007. Prior to this, he was Managing Editor of the division from September 2002 and Editor of The Business Times from May 1992.
Mr Daniel is a director of Tamil Murasu Ltd, which publishes the Tamil-language daily and tabla!, the English weekly for the Indian community. He is also Chairman of SPH UnionWorks, the Group's radio subsidiary.
Mr Daniel joined the media after a stint in the Singapore Government's Administrative Service where his last position was Director in the Ministry of Trade and Industry. He graduated from University College, Oxford in 1976 with a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Engineering Sciences and Economics. He also has a Masters in Public Administration from the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.
Tony Mallek, Director
Mr Mallek joined SPH as Senior Vice-President, Finance in June 2003. Prior to this, he was General Manager, Finance for Intraco Ltd. Originally from Hong Kong, he started his career in 1978 in the UK and has been with various U.S. multinationals until 1991 when he was posted to Singapore.
His Singapore experience has mainly been in the healthcare industry, including general manager positions in finance and business development for Parkway Holdings Ltd.
Mr Mallek holds a Bachelor of Technology (Honours) in Operations Management from Bradford University and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
Low Huan Ping, Director
Mr Low is the Executive Vice-President, Technology. He has been with the SPH Group for 21 years. Mr Low is also a director of MobileOne Ltd and iFast Corporation Pte Ltd.
Mr Low started his career at the Ministry of Defence, where he subsequently headed various IT departments.
Mr Low holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) and Master of Arts from Cambridge University, where he read Engineering and a Master of Science from the University of Singapore. He also graduated from Harvard Business School's Advanced Management Program.
Deborah Lee, Director
Ms Lee joined SPH as Executive Vice-President, Corporate Development in April 2007. Prior to joining SPH, she was a consultant, specialising in corporate development work and mergers and acquisitions.
Before her consultancy work, Ms Lee was Senior Vice-President, Business Development at the Wuthelam Group, overseeing the establishment of the industrial electronics business, real estate business development and private equity investment for the Group in the region.
Ms Lee started her career as an auditor with Price Waterhouse and subsequently joined Hewlett Packard, holding various management positions over a period of 11 years.
She holds a Bachelor of Accountancy (Honours) and a Master in Applied Finance from the National University of Singapore. She is a CFA charterholder.
Alvin Tay, Director
Alvin Tay is the Editor of The Business Times, Singapore's business daily. He graduated in 1980 from the then University of Singapore. Following a two-year stint at a finance company, Alvin rejoined Business Times as a cub reporter in 1984. He was appointed Financial Editor in 1989 before assuming the News Editor position in 1992. In 1996, he was seconded to The Straits Times as its Money Editor. On completion, he returned to BT as Deputy Editor in 1999 and was appointed BT Editor in September 2002.
Alvin also sits on the Board of The Old Parliament House Ltd.
Christopher Lee, Director and CEO
Mr Christopher Lee is one of the founding members of ShareInvestor, an internet media and technology company with operations in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. Mr Lee is currently the Chief Executive Officer of ShareInvestor Group of companies.
Mr Lee has more than 17 years of working experience in the information technology and media industry. He started off in 1992 as a Marketing Representative with IBM Singapore and has assumed various responsibilities including sales, marketing, training and management in his 8 years tenure with IBM. His last held appointment was Country Manager (Public Sector), IBM Singapore in 1999.
Mr Lee was instrumental in the development and expansion of ShareInvestor businesses in Singapore and across the region in the area of online investor communication, financial market data tools, media advertising and information technology services.
Mr Lee is an electrical engineer by training, having obtained his Bachelor of Engineering (2nd Class Upper) from the National University of Singapore in 1992. He obtained his Master of Business Administration (MBA), specializing in Management of Information Technology from the Nanyang Business School, Singapore in 1997. In 1998, Mr Lee completed his Client Executive Program by the Harvard Business School. He is also a Committee Member of the Victoria Advisory Committees as well as a Member of the Singapore Institute of Directors.
